The brief

Develop an e-commerce platform for CL-Campus, allowing users to purchase online courses and webinars through a single website.

The client was already using Moodle as their learning management system and needed to integrate its existing courses with a new WordPress-based online store.

The main challenge was to connect Moodle’s educational infrastructure with WooCommerce, enabling customers to purchase courses and register for webinars without switching between different platforms.

The website also needed to support both paid and free webinars, personal user accounts with purchased courses and events, and a convenient way to track upcoming educational activities.

The client provided the visual design, while our team was responsible for preparing the technical requirements and implementing the solution.

What we did

Developed a WordPress-based e-commerce platform using WooCommerce and integrated it with the client’s existing Moodle learning management system.

Rather than building the entire integration from scratch, we adapted an existing commercial solution and extended its functionality to support paid courses.

The implementation included several key features:

  • Moodle integration: Connected the existing learning management system with WordPress and WooCommerce to support online course purchases.
  • Course purchasing: Extended the integration to enable customers to purchase educational content through the website.
  • Webinar registration: Implemented functionality for managing webinars, including free events that users can access by registering with their email address.
  • Automated invitations: Added email invitations for users registering for free webinars.
  • Course and webinar schedule: Developed a dedicated Schedule section displaying upcoming educational activities and their start dates.
  • Notification system: Integrated notifications into the Schedule section to help users stay informed about upcoming courses and webinars.

We also implemented content management and e-commerce functionality through WordPress and WooCommerce, extending the existing platform to accommodate the client’s educational services.

Why it mattered

Managing educational content, course purchases and webinar registrations across separate platforms can create unnecessary complexity for both students and administrators.

The new solution brings these processes together, allowing users to discover courses, complete purchases and register for webinars through a single website.

For the client, integrating Moodle with WordPress and WooCommerce meant they could continue using their existing learning management system while introducing additional commercial functionality.

Automated webinar invitations reduce manual administration, while the Schedule section provides a convenient way for users to track upcoming educational activities.

By extending an existing commercial integration rather than replacing Moodle, the project also preserved the client’s established educational infrastructure.

The result is an integrated e-learning and e-commerce platform that combines online course sales, webinar registration and educational content management within a unified website.
