Custom Discount Coupon Plugin for Absolute Adventure Mexico

The brief

Develop a custom WordPress plugin for Absolute Adventure Mexico, a tour operator offering travel experiences and excursions.

The client needed a flexible solution for managing promotional discounts, allowing coupons to be applied automatically based on specific conditions.

Unlike standard discount systems, the promotional rules needed to consider two important factors: the date when a customer makes a purchase and the scheduled start date of the tour.

The main challenge was to introduce more control over discount campaigns while keeping the booking experience straightforward for customers and reducing the need for manual coupon management.

What we did

Developed a custom WordPress plugin that automatically applies discount coupons based on predefined date conditions.

The plugin evaluates both the purchase date and the tour start date to determine whether a customer qualifies for a particular promotional offer.

This allows Absolute Adventure Mexico to configure targeted discounts for different booking periods and travel dates.

The solution includes several key features:

• Automatic coupon application: Applies eligible discounts without requiring customers to enter coupon codes manually.

We also extended the plugin with global coupon configuration, giving the client greater flexibility in defining how and when promotional discounts should apply.
